Apoptosis – Saeculum Hyaenarum (Grindcore / Thrashgrind)
Released July 19, 2025
Fourteen songs. Fifteen minutes. No compromise. Apoptosis newest release “Saeculum Hyaenarum” wastes no time and gives no mercy. This is grindcore reduced to its brutal core: speed, violence, noise. Exactly how grind should be.
From the opening intro to the final static-scarred outro, the album rips through its tracklist with surgical chaos. Despite its shortness, the record manages to stay varied — blast beats dominate, fast as hell, tightly locked into crusted-out guitar tones that grind, tear, and scrape. Sharp, dry, filthy. Vocals? Just pure throat-shredding panic. And ambient interludes give you enough space to breathe without ever losing momentum.
Lyrically? Ugly. On “Damaged Good”: “I’m breaking apart on the cross of expectations… I’m not a useful member.” That’s the mission statement. Elsewhere, the singer vomit consumerist hellscapes, systemic rot, and moral decay. On “Born, Consumed And Dead” he just screams the same four words like he’s on fire. It works.
“Saeculum Hyaenarum” is meant to be played loud, live, or straight into your ears through busted headphones — any way you take it, it’s meant to hurt.
Apoptosis hammering this album into your face until your teeth crack.
Listen. Get hit. Repeat.
