Dinasty’s new release “Kirik”, sinks its teeth into the rotten nerves of modern social life and state machinery. Named after the Javanese word for “puppy” – which is also often used as a polite or euphemistic form of the swear word “asu” (dog) in the local dialect.
The puppy’s main behavior – licking – is often employed by humans to smooth the way toward any life goal. One example is the effort to gain positions of power in a short time. In the world this album builds, every smile hides a sharpened tooth.
“Kirik” is a manifesto against social climbing, state rot and the pathetic choreography of people who bend their spines into pretzels just to sniff the boots above them.
